October 12 - Project Tour: Salesforce Tower

Please join us for this fantastic opportunity to take a jobwalk of the Salesforce Tower, which will be provided by Consolidated Engineering Laboratories, the special inspection agency. Salesforce Tower is a 1.4 million sq-ft, 61-story tower, which will be one of the tallest buildings west of the Mississippi when it is completed in 2017.

Standard Safety Requirements will be enforced - Boots required.  All other PPE items will be available at the site for those who need them. 

Time:  4:30 pm start - please arrive on time.

Location: We will meet at the Clark Hathaway Dinwiddie office - 450 Mission St., Suite 403, SF.  [Near Embarcadero Bart, Parking garages at 455 Market St. under Walgreens, 1 Bush St., 500 Howard St.]

Cost:  $10 Members, $20 Non-Members

Please also join us after the jobwalk for non-hosted food, drinks & networking at Schroeder's @ 240 Front St.

September 14 - Networking & Board Installation 

Please join us as we prepare to start the 2016/2017 NAWIC year with dinner, networking and the installation of our newly elected officers and board members. To all our new members who have joined over the past several months, this is a great opportunity to meet and mingle with your chapter colleagues and share fresh ideas for our chapter events in the upcoming year.  

Time:  6:00-8:00 p.m.

Location:  We will meet at Darn Good Food, Inc. (DGF)  322 Kearny St, SF  (btwn Bush and Pine, parking at 433 Kearny is $1/hr. after 6:00)

JULY 13 - SUMMER EVENT DOGPATCH WALKING TOUR

We will be taking a walking tour of Dogpatch, a SF historic district which has undergone a transformation.  Experience the incredible revival of Dogpatch, from its beginnings as a working class industrial neighborhood, to the center of San Francisco’s maker movement where many artisanal products are handcrafted locally.

We will have a progressive meal while going to the renovated spaces in Dogpatch, stopping in several food and beverage establishments for bites and drink.  There will be food-related tasting of vegetarian pizza, chocolate, cheese, BBQ with vegetarian sides, beer and wine.

Time:  5:00-8:00 p.m.

Location:  We will meet at Triple Voodoo Brewery, 2245 3rd St., SF (b/w 19th & 20th St.)

JUNE 8th - Sit-Down Dinner, 2016/2017 Planning Meeting, Elections

The goal of our June meeting is to plan out our events for the next year and we need your participation to help us determine the best place to focus our efforts to provide the education topics and activities of interest to you.  If you have an interest in becoming more active in the organization, there are many opportunities, both small and large, whether you have only a samll portion of time to give outside of the meetings, or more, including becoming a member of the Board. 

June's meeting will be held at Darn Good Food, with networking, a sit-down dinner, and a focus on making plans for the Chapter's 2016/2017 year.  Members will also vote for the 2016/2017 Board and Delegates for AMEC.

Time:  Networking will begin at 6:00PM; Appetizers will be served at 6:30PM, Dinner at 7:00PM. 

Location:  Darn Good Food:  322 Kearny St, SF (A block from typical Meeting locale at Sedgwick's offices). BART and MUNI close, and a couple of options for parking garages.

JUNE 10, 2015: INTERRUPTING IMPLICIT BIAS IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

November 12, 2014: Labor/Unions: Unions on Your Job? PLAs, Strikes, and Answers to Your Other Project Related Union Questions

Michael J. October 9, 2013: Project Tour: Levi Stadium - New Home to the SF 49ers

DRIVE YOURSELF OR JUMP ON THE CHARTERED BUS LEAVING FROM SAN FRANCISCO (Price is same).  Limited Space on Bus, so if Registering and intending to take bus, please let us know.  Early Start, but time needed to be there will depend on if driving yourself or if taking the bus from SF.

Join us for this great opportunity to tour the Levi Stadium, which will be hosted by Turner.  With an early start of a presentation/safety talk starting at 4:15.  We'll finish the presentation and tour around 6PM, at which time we will load back up on the bus, and supply a light dinner that can be consumed on the bus around 6PM.  For those not jumping on the bus, we will be able to coordinate having a dinner delivered to you as a "to-go" that is the same for on the bus, so long as it is coordinated withing 24-hours prior to the bus.
